Adult Computer Literacy

The Ivy Enrichment Foundation of Tampa Bay's Computer Literacy for Elderly Adults Program aims to empower individuals aged 65 and older with essential computer skills, fostering confidence and autonomy in navigating the technological landscape. This comprehensive program consists of six one-and-a-half-hour workshops covering topics such as computers, websites, email, and social media. Facilitated by proficient Ivy Enrichment Foundation members and community partners, the workshops provide a supportive learning environment either in-person at a computer lab or in rented facilities equipped with necessary computer hardware.

Participants are required to attend a minimum of three out of the six workshops and will receive specially designed computer accessories, including a large-print keyboard and a multi-device charging hub. The program commits to delivering up to twenty-five Units of Service annually, with a defined "Unit of Service" representing an elderly adult who completes at least three workshops.

To measure the program's success, 80% of participants completing a minimum of three workshops are expected to demonstrate increased knowledge and skills. This assessment will be conducted through a pre-test at the beginning of the workshop series and a dyadic and experiential post-test upon its conclusion. The Computer Literacy for Elderly Adults Program aligns with the Ivy Enrichment Foundation's commitment to fostering digital inclusion and enhancing the lives of elderly individuals in the community.
