Computer Tots
The Ivy Enrichment Foundation of Tampa Bay's Computer Tots Program, a STEM initiative tailored for students in grades 1-3, offers enrichment opportunities for up to twenty participants with an interest or proficiency in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Spanning nine months on a bi-weekly basis, the program introduces keyboarding, online safety, and basic computer skills, enhancing academic readiness in the digital age. Certified classroom teachers facilitate the sessions, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
Participants, equipped with laptops and necessary accessories, undergo computerized testing throughout the program, aiming for successful completion to be considered graduates of the Computer Tots Program. The foundation commits to delivering up to twenty Units of Service annually, with a "Unit of Service" defined as a student who completes the entire program.
The program's success is gauged by the capability of 80% of participants, who completed the Computer Tots Program, to independently use technological devices such as computers and tablets. This proficiency is measured through the successful completion of computerized testing, aligning with the Ivy Enrichment Foundation's dedication to fostering STEM skills and digital literacy in young learners.
